What you get with Case Study Help Services

Two different assignments share the name "case study". In business, management and MBA modules it is a decision document: a company at a decision point, a set of exhibits, and a brief asking what should be done and why. In research methods, nursing and the social sciences it is an empirical design — a bounded case investigated in its real-world context, most often following Robert K. Yin's Case Study Research and Applications (6th edition, SAGE, 2018) or Kathleen Eisenhardt's theory-building approach. The frameworks, the evidence rules and the assessment criteria are not interchangeable, and a case analysis written to the wrong pattern answers a question the brief did not ask. AMDEX Scholar Labs supports both: explaining which analytical tool answers which question, working a parallel example on a case you are not assessed on, giving structural feedback on a draft you have written, and proofreading the finished text against your brief.
  • Guidance built around your own brief and your marking rubric
  • Matched to a specialist who works in your subject area
  • Referencing explained and checked in your institution’s style — APA, MLA, Harvard, Chicago and more
  • Feedback on your drafts while there is still time to act on it
  • Worked examples supplied as labelled models to study and cite, never to submit
  • Human expertise — nothing here is generated by AI

What do you need assistance with?

Is a business case analysis the same as a case study in research methods?

No. A business case analysis works from a written teaching case — the Harvard Business School or Ivey style, with a named protagonist, a decision to make and financial and market exhibits attached. Your task is to diagnose the underlying problem, apply a framework, weigh options against stated criteria and recommend one. The evidence sits inside the case, and outside research is often limited by the brief. A case study as a research method collects new evidence about a bounded case — interviews, documents, archival records, observation — under an explicit design. One is an argued recommendation; the other is a piece of empirical research with a methodology chapter. Confirm which your brief means before you pick a structure.

Which framework should I use — SWOT, Porter's Five Forces, or something else?

Choose the one that answers the question your brief actually asks. A framework applied because it is familiar produces description; a framework applied because the case turns on that question produces analysis. Most cases need two at most — one external, one internal — plus a way of converting the findings into options.
  • Porter's Five Forces (Harvard Business Review, March–April 1979) — industry structure and where value is being competed away: rivalry, new entrants, substitutes, buyer power, supplier power.
  • PESTEL — macro conditions outside the firm's control, useful only when each factor is tied to a consequence for this firm in this case.
  • VRIO — Barney's resource-based view, published as VRIN in 1991 and reworked as VRIO in 1995: is the resource valuable, rare, costly to imitate, and is the firm organised to exploit it?
  • SWOT then TOWS — SWOT is an inventory; Weihrich's TOWS matrix (Long Range Planning, 1982) crosses the factors into SO, ST, WO and WT strategies, which is what turns a list into a recommendation.
  • Porter's value chain (Competitive Advantage, 1985) — where cost or differentiation is created across primary and support activities.
  • Balanced Scorecard (Kaplan and Norton, Harvard Business Review, January–February 1992) — financial, customer, internal process, and innovation and learning perspectives, for implementation and control sections.
  • Ansoff's product-market matrix (Harvard Business Review, September–October 1957) — penetration, market development, product development, diversification, for growth-option cases.

How do I structure a case analysis so it reads as analysis, not summary?

Cut the summary. Your marker has read the case, so retelling it adds nothing your analysis does not. A case analysis that works moves from a single named problem through evidence to one defended decision, with the arithmetic pushed into appendices and referred to from the body. Every framework output should point at a specific exhibit, figure or quoted fact from the case rather than at general knowledge about the industry.
  • Problem statement — one or two sentences naming the decision and the constraint the protagonist faces, not a list of symptoms.
  • Situation analysis — framework output, each finding anchored to a specific fact or exhibit.
  • Options — two to four realistic alternatives, including the do-nothing baseline, judged against criteria you state before you apply them.
  • Recommendation — one option, the trade-offs you accepted, and the evidence that decided it.
  • Implementation — sequence, owner, resource implication, and the risks with mitigations.
  • Appendices — ratio analysis, break-even work, contribution margins and reworked exhibits, each labelled and cross-referenced.

What does a case study look like when it is a research method?

It looks like a design decision you have to defend. Yin's typology crosses single against multiple cases and holistic against embedded units of analysis, giving four types; you state which one you are using and why, and you bound the case in time, place and organisation. A case study protocol, a case study database and a maintained chain of evidence are what make the work auditable, and triangulating across Yin's six sources — documents, archival records, interviews, direct observation, participant observation and physical artefacts — is what makes it credible. Analysis then runs through one of five named techniques rather than general thematic commentary. The same logic underpins a case-based dissertation or thesis chapter.
  • Pattern matching — compare an empirically observed pattern against one predicted in advance.
  • Explanation building — iterative pattern matching that stipulates causal links.
  • Time-series analysis — track variables across the period the case covers.
  • Logic models — map inputs to activities to outcomes over time.
  • Cross-case synthesis — compare findings across cases in a multiple-case design.
  • Quality tests — construct validity, internal validity (explanatory cases only), external validity and reliability.

How is a clinical or nursing case report different?

It follows a reporting checklist, not a strategy framework. The CARE (CAse REport) guidelines, published in 2013 by an international consensus group, set out 13 items: title, keywords, abstract, introduction, patient information, clinical findings, timeline, diagnostic assessment, therapeutic intervention, follow-up and outcomes, discussion, patient perspective and informed consent. The timeline and the patient perspective are the two items easiest to overlook, since neither has an obvious home in a standard clinical narrative. Identifying details must be removed, and consent is a reporting requirement rather than an afterthought. Referencing is usually Vancouver, and most journals and modules want the discussion to state what the single case can and cannot support. The same checklist applies to case reports written for nursing modules.

Will you write the case analysis I have to hand in?

No. Support here is framework selection, a parallel analysis worked on a company you are not assessed on, and feedback on the draft you wrote. In practice that means talking through why Five Forces fits one case and VRIO another, showing the moves on that parallel analysis, reading your draft and marking where the recommendation is asserted rather than evidenced, checking your exhibit calculations against the case data, and proofreading for register, referencing and word limit. A worked parallel analysis of a company you are not assessed on is labelled as reference material and stays that way — it demonstrates the moves, it is not a draft of your case. Assessed work remains your own. Send the brief, the marking rubric, the case reference and your draft through contact us, so the feedback can check your exhibit workings and your recommendation against the criteria the rubric names.

Case Study Help Services: common questions

It depends on the discipline, not the format. Business and management modules commonly use Harvard or APA; clinical and nursing case reports use Vancouver; UK law cases use OSCOLA, US law the Bluebook and Australian law the AGLC, so check your module's requirement. Whichever applies, the teaching case itself is a published source and needs a full entry — author, publisher, case number and year — and exhibits you reproduce or recalculate must be attributed. A comparison of the main styles covers the formatting differences.

Yin gives five rationales for a single case: it is critical, unusual, common, revelatory or longitudinal. If your case fits one of these, say which and defend it. Multiple-case designs work on replication logic, not sample size — each additional case is chosen either to reproduce the same result for the same reasons (literal replication) or to produce a contrasting result for predictable reasons (theoretical replication). Adding cases to look thorough weakens the design.

Follow the word limit in your brief, and check whether appendices count towards it — practice varies by module. Appendices carry ratio calculations, break-even and NPV workings, reworked exhibits, framework tables and interview schedules. Anything in an appendix must be referred to from the main text; unreferenced appendices read as padding. The argument itself has to stand up if a reader never turns to the back.

The assignment brief and marking rubric, your current draft, the word limit, the required referencing style, and the case reference so the discussion can stay grounded in it. If your licence or module policy restricts sharing the case text, the reference and your own summary of the exhibits are usually enough. Naming the specific worry — weak recommendation, framework not landing, calculations uncertain — makes the feedback sharper than a general read-through.

Yes, for the parts that are legitimately supportable: explaining the method to the group, working a parallel example everyone can learn from, and proofreading a draft the group has written. Check your institution's collaboration policy first, because group case work often has explicit rules about outside input and about how individual contribution is assessed. A parallel worked case shared with a group stays labelled as reference material, and each member still writes their own analysis and recommendation.
