What you get with Diploma Work Help Services

Diploma work is criterion-referenced. A Pearson BTEC Higher National unit is graded, not marked: there is no percentage, and the assessor decides Pass, Merit or Distinction at the level of each learning outcome, using the published criteria as the yardstick. An Australian VET diploma unit of competency is judged Competent or Not Yet Competent against its performance criteria. A QQI further education component in Ireland is scored in percentage bands. An Ontario college diploma is measured against its programme's vocational learning outcomes plus the eleven Essential Employability Skills outcomes. Each of these wants different evidence, arranged differently. AMDEX Scholar Labs works on that mapping with you: reading the assignment brief against the unit specification, showing where a criterion's command verb has not yet been met in your draft, working parallel examples on a scenario that is not yours, and proofreading the finished report. The evidence that goes into the assessment record stays yours to produce — an assessor signs it off as your work.
  • Guidance built around your own brief and your marking rubric
  • Matched to a specialist who works in your subject area
  • Referencing explained and checked in your institution’s style — APA, MLA, Harvard, Chicago and more
  • Feedback on your drafts while there is still time to act on it
  • Worked examples supplied as labelled models to study and cite, never to submit
  • Human expertise — nothing here is generated by AI

What do you need assistance with?

Is diploma work marked out of 100?

No — not on a Pearson Higher National. Pearson's assessment guidance instructs centres not to use numerical marking or percentage weighting, because Higher Nationals are graded rather than marked. Judgement happens at learning-outcome level, and grading is cumulative: a Merit requires every Pass criterion to be met as well, and a Distinction requires all Pass, Merit and Distinction criteria. One unmet criterion holds back the whole outcome. Other systems differ. QQI further education components in Ireland do use percentage bands — Pass 50–64, Merit 65–79, Distinction 80–100. Australian VET units are ungraded: Competent or Not Yet Competent against the performance criteria and performance evidence written into the unit of competency.

What does evidencing a learning outcome actually mean?

It means every assessment criterion has a named piece of evidence pointing at it. Pearson's guidance on assignment design says a brief should identify the unit number and title, state which learning outcomes and criteria are covered, describe the evidence required and its format, and set the task inside a vocational scenario. The same guidance says a brief should not be tied to a single assessment criterion, and should let a student reach a learning outcome at any of the levels its criteria define. So the working document worth building first is a map: criterion, command verb, the place in your submission where that verb is actually carried out, and a page or appendix number.

How should the diploma portfolio be put together?

Front it with the criteria map, then order the evidence so an assessor can follow that map without hunting. Vocational programmes mix artefact types and each type has its own conventions: an observation record needs the assessor's signature and date, a witness testimony needs the witness's role and relationship to the work, a logbook needs dated entries rather than a retrospective summary written at the end. Irish QQI components frequently pair a portfolio or collection of work with a separate skills demonstration, and the two are assessed on different criteria, so evidence written for one rarely covers the other.
  • A criteria-to-evidence table: learning outcome, criterion, artefact, location
  • Primary artefacts — reports, drawings, code, care plans, costings — one per file, named to match the table
  • Observation records, witness statements and logbooks, signed and dated
  • Appendices for raw material: transcripts, data, supplier quotes, screenshots
  • A declaration of authorship, plus any placement or ethics approval the brief asks for

How is the final diploma report formatted and referenced?

As a report, not an essay: title page carrying the unit number and title, contents, numbered sections, captioned and numbered figures and tables, then references and appendices. Numbered headings matter more here than in essay work, because the criteria map cites them directly. Keep argument in the body and raw material in appendices — an assessor reading for one criterion should not have to reconstruct it out of an appendix. Referencing style follows the centre rather than the awarding body: many UK Higher National centres run Harvard, health and social care units often use APA, and engineering units may use a numeric style. Our comparison of referencing styles sets out what changes between them.

What happens if a unit comes back referred?

You are reassessed on the criteria you did not meet, and what reassessment can produce is limited. Pearson's guidance allows one resubmission of the same assignment, caps the reassessed grade at Pass for that learning outcome, and bars reassessment of any component already awarded a Pass or higher — so it moves a fail to a pass and no further. The cap is Pearson's rule, not your centre's, but it is not absolute. Where a mitigating circumstances panel accepts that the first attempt could never have succeeded, the assessment board may lift the cap and grade the reassessment in full, depending on the centre's own policy. Practically, a referral is a narrow job: take the assessor's comment, find the criterion wording it refers to, and rework only the evidence for that criterion instead of rewriting the submission.

Do you write the diploma project?

No. Assessed diploma and HND work is yours to produce, and centres verify authenticity. What is useful from outside is method: unpicking what a command verb such as evaluate or justify demands at Level 5 as against Level 4, working a parallel example on a scenario unrelated to your brief, reading the draft you have written against the criteria and saying where the evidence stops short, structuring a portfolio, and proofreading for consistency in referencing, numbering and captions. Those worked examples are labelled as reference material and built on a scenario that could not be entered as evidence against your own brief. If you are unsure, send the assignment brief and the unit's assessment criteria grid through contact us — we will point to which criteria we can assist you in evidencing yourself and which we cannot touch.

Diploma Work Help Services: common questions

A Pearson BTEC Higher National Certificate is at least 120 credits, all at Level 4. The Higher National Diploma is 240 credits — 120 at Level 4 and 120 at Level 5. The HNC sits inside the HND as an embedded component, which is why students who exit after the first stage leave with a certificate. Credit totals matter for planning, because units differ in size and larger units carry proportionally more assessment evidence.

Pearson's assessment guidance tells centres not to penalise students for exceeding word counts or limits, treating them as recommendations that cannot be used to determine assessment. That is a rule about grading, not an invitation to write long. Assessment happens at learning-outcome level, and padding makes it harder for an assessor to locate the evidence for a given criterion, which is the real risk. Check your own centre's submission rules too, since centres add requirements of their own.

It means the evidence did not yet satisfy every performance criterion and item of performance evidence in that unit of competency. You are reassessed on the gaps rather than given a lower grade, because VET units are not graded Pass, Merit or Distinction. Assessment in a VET unit is normally gathered over time and from more than one source — direct observation, questioning, third-party report, work samples — so a Not Yet Competent result usually means topping up a specific piece of evidence rather than repeating the unit.

Diploma and HND work is criterion-referenced and vocational: the brief gives you a workplace scenario, names the outcomes it assesses, and the evidence is judged against fixed descriptors. A dissertation is argument-led and judged holistically on research question, method, analysis and contribution, usually against a percentage marking scheme. A dissertation asks you to justify a research design; a unit portfolio asks you to show where each criterion is evidenced, so the reading is narrower and the structure is fixed by the criteria grid. If your programme includes an extended research project rather than a unit portfolio, dissertation and thesis support is the closer fit.

Yes, as coaching and review. Many diploma briefs assess an outcome through a presentation, viva or observed demonstration rather than written text, and the criteria for those still use command verbs you can map to slides and speaker notes. We can review a deck you have built, check that each criterion is visibly addressed somewhere in it, and tighten wording and sequencing. Presentation and poster support covers the design side.
